Vespa transmission upgrade complete! Malossi Multivar variator and Malossi Delta clutch installed, and the initial test drive checks out. I will still need to purchase a new transmisson cover, but that will give me a chance to buy a powdercoated black one for the new look bike. I did it, Oppo! (Yes. I know there is a chance I did something wrong and the belt could snap on me down the road, but I will be sure to inspect as I go.)
My short test drive around the block revealed a much more spirited bike. I like it. I am tired and sweaty and dirty and smiling.
I am looking forward to the next phase.

Cool, nice work ! Thanks for the pics.
So a variator is just a form of a CVT? And is the thing engaging with the teeth on the clutch or whatever the thing with the turbine-blade-esque arrangement on it the parking pawl?

More parts arrived yesterday. That scooter is at my buddy's house. I'm going over there Wednesday to hopefully get it going.
